Why do you need a macro lens?

Most people would be asking why should I get a macro lens? If i have a 100mm zoom lens it should be the same as a macro lens.
Well here are 2 picture both shoot at 100mm and at the minimum focus distance for each lens.

Notice the different in magnification? Macro lens can make small object much bigger.
